Is the thought of going back to the exercise class or gym too much after the Christmas break (and no doubt a bout of the flu for many of you!)?

I know it certainly was tough for me getting back into it. It's amazing how much you lose in terms of stamina with just a few weeks away from it all. I didn't put any weight on over the festive period thanks to the flu taking away any appetite for food or drink but even so it was hard to get back into it. It really helps to start off with an exercise class, team or club activity as then you have the peer pressure of not wanting to let the others down which keeps you going. Just remember, your brain may be saying quit, your muscles and breathing may be saying quit, but you can do it! Don't give up now, after the first session or two you'll be back where you were before the break and ready to keep on improving on yourself.
