Hi there!
My advice would be to stay off the alcohol and ease back into the exercise gradually. I pushed myself too hard when I started at the gym and got injured and couldn't train properly for a week.
What sort of exercise do you like doing?

Try spending the first six weeks back at the gym building up your fitness with some cardio and strength training then once you've got the foundations in place start stepping things up. As above give up the alcohol and fags. Eat good healthy food and cut out the bad and you'll find your energy levels will go right up!

thanks for the advice lads i figured out how to join up so will be on this a good bit as i like the good advice and forums, i rarely drink alcohol, its the sugar such as lattes and muffins thati give in to, i know they are crap so thats a good start, i drink soya milk and love healthy food its almost like a vicious cycle with sugar, you get addicted and cant stop, so i am in the process of gradually stopping smoking, joined the gym (again) love the cross trainer and the stepper machine the best plus used to do bursts of sprints on the treadmill and some weight training, thanks for the good advice, will ease back into it slowly and check in on this site to stay motivated!!! cheers...ruth
