Sounds interesting. I've found the principles behind the Paleo diet work for me and it'll be interesting to see what the research comes up with by coupling this with modern science. Perhaps this theory could also be extended to the exercise we do as well and we should mimic as closely as possible what caveman did. This would most likely have been a by product of obtaining food as well as occasionally legging it from danger. Perhaps the best exercises to keep us healthy would be things caveman would have likely done such as walking/hiking, sprinting, climbing, swimming, carrying and dragging various unwieldy loads and throwing and swinging objects.

I would imagine cavemen did more walking with the odd sprint to escape a woolly mammoth than long distance running...

Read an interesting article a while back that its good to vary your diet and exercise like cavemen so walking lots with a few `flight' sprints, some weight exercise such as lifting rocks, tree trunks etc and foodwise, eat basic foods, not fancy recipes, simpler the better (did fred flintstone do a sorbet!) And its ok to binge on the odd day, for example just killed a woolly mammoth, and some days abstain cos you haven't hunted or scavenged any fruit or veg, has to be a diet quite high in fruit and veg though.

Sounds good an very natural to me. I'd just be careful on the binge day though that you only eat heavily of natural foods. Caveman wouldn't have been tucking into trifles and chocolates so avoid stuff crammed full of sugar.

Yeah, a huge roast dinner would be ok but not a bag of doughnuts!
