Anyone got any tips to reduce or prevent sore muscles the day after a hard workout?

I always find a good warm down (10 mins) followed by some gentle stretching is helpful. If any muscles feel like they are more than just fatigued, use an ice pack or cold spray/gel for around 24 hours. Drinking plenty of fluids is also important as you are likely to be dehydrated after your work out.

Could also try eating certain foods after a workout, like protein shake and some fruit to help recovery. Also stuff like pineapple, green tea, avocado, celery, cherries, fish oils etc are supposed to be good for reducing inflammation so might help.

Milk just before bed works best for me - it has "slow" proteins which while your sleeping rebuilds the muscles.
