As a thought you could focus on your upper body where you can complete exercises sitting down to take the weight off your foot.

Hi,sorry to hear about your bad luck. Bit of a tricky one really. You could maybe try walking lots with crutches and doing a light weights/bodyweight circuit using exercises that involve lying or sitting down. Try overhead presses, bench presses, pullovers, situps, russian twists, horizontal pullups that kind of thing. As long as it doesn't exacerbate the injury. Could you use a rowing machine also or stationary bike? Really concentrate on good nutrition too as you'll be burning less calories. Hope you back to full fitness soon.

Funny how things come around! I recently badly sprained my ankle and found I was really limited on what I could do exercise wise. It's times like that when you realise how much you use your ankles for pretty much everything. Even upper body workouts often involve weight bearing on your legs and so through to your ankles. Pull ups worked for me, and also hitting the gym as using the static machines is good in this situation as you can take the weight off your legs and really only work on your upper body.
